First law of thermodynamics, volumetric properties of pure fluids, heat capacities of gases as a function of temperature, heat capacities of solids and liquids, the standard heat of reaction, the second law of thermodynamics, introduction to phase and chemical equilibria, thermodynamic flow processes in case of flowing pipes, throttling process, nozzles, compressors, ejectors, conversion of heat into work, power cycles, refrigeration and liquification.

Assessment includes assignments and examination.
